Madhya Pradesh is home to a host city of Kumbh Mela, two Jyotirlingas, and many famous temples. Among all the places in Madhya Pradesh Ujjain holds much more significance than others as this city this temple city of Madhya Pradesh, is famous for celebrating Kumbh Mela, the largest religious gathering in the world. One of the 12 Jyotirlingas, Mahakaleshwar Temple, is in Ujjain. Ujjain is the place where Lord Krishna, along with Balarama and Sudama, received his education from Maharshi Sandipani. The Great Stupa at Sanchi, the oldest stone structure in India is also in this city. Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga in Khandwa is the second jyotirlinga in Madhya Pradesh. Built-in the medieval century by the Chandela Dynasty, the UNESCO site of 'Khajuraho Group of Monuments' is another famous site in Madhya Pradesh and is known for its Nagara-Style architecture and graceful sculptures of nayikas and deities. This state is the place where faith is an integral part of daily life and has drawn poets, sages, and pilgrims through the ages. For all its importance in Bharateeya Puranas and history, Madhya Pradesh looks more of a divine state that has plenty to offer in terms of spiritual yatras.
