Jyotirlinga literally means Linga of light. In a spiritual sense, it can be elaborated to The all-pervading Brahmatmalinga or all-pervading light. It is mentioned in the Taittiriya Upanishad, that the twelve Principles of Brahma, Maya, the jiva, the mind, intellect, subconscious mind, ego, and the Panchamahabhutas have been referred to as the twelve Jyotirlingas. These are referred to as the twelve sections of the Shivalinga as well. In Sanatan Dharma getting the darshan of all these lingas in a single lifetime is considered as a rare opportunity and blessing from Bholenath. Mahakaleshwar in Ujjain district and Omkareshwar in Khandwa district are the 2 Maha Jyotirlingas of Madhyapradesh. This trip will cover Indore city and some other important, religious, historical places also along with the Jyotir lingas.

    Day 1
    Reach Indore and get assisted tranfer from Airport/Railway Station to the hotel. Take a short rest and leave for the city tour and visit the below places as per your time availability.

    Rajwada Palace
    The biggest tourist attraction in Indore is the Rajwada, built-in 1749 by Malhar Rao Holkar to serve as his palace. The mammoth sevenstoreyed palace, a combination of Maratha, Mughal, and French architectural styles, reaches out to the sky from the chaotic lanes of Khajuri Bazaar, in the heart of the old city.

    Krishnapura Chhatris
    The beautiful chhatris of Krishnapura and Boliya Sarkar are located on the banks of the Khan river. The chhatris are distinguished by their soaring pyramidal spires, which take on a magical quality when illuminated at night.

    Lalbagh Palace
    Set amidst manicured gardens spread over nearly 72 acres in the southwest of the city is the magnificent Lalbagh Palace, built between 1886 and 1921. The palace blends Renaissance, Palladian and Baroque elements and houses grand chandeliers, rich Persian carpets, and stuffed gaming trophies

    Central Museum
    Indores Central Museum possesses one of the best collections of Hindu and Jain sculptures from Madhya Pradesh, dating from the Gupta to Paramara periods.

    Khajrana 
    Built by Rani Ahilya Bai Holkar, Khajrana Ganesh temple is one of the most visited temples in the city because of its history and religious beliefs attached to it. The idol was found in a well, it was taken out and a temple was established in 1735 by Ahilyabai Holkar. The gate, and the outer and upper walls of the Garbhagriha are made of Silver and different moods and festivals are depicted on them.

    Kanch Temple 
    The beautiful Kanch Mandir near Rajwada was built by the Jain industrialist, Seth Hukumchand, in the early 20th century. The walls, ceiling, floor, and doors, even the paintings and murals here, are all made of glass, with cut-glass chandeliers adorning the ceiling. On the top floor is a special glass chamber that multiplies the images of three Tirthankaras-Adinath, Shantinath, and Chandraprabha-made of shimmering black onyx, to an infinite number.

    Gandhi Hall 
    Indores stunning Indo-Saracenic Town Hall was inaugurated in 1905. In 1948 it was christened Gandhi Hall. It has a four-faced domed clock tower in front, because of which, it is locally known as Ghanta Ghar.

    Day 2
    After early break fast start from Indore to Shri Mahakaleshwar of Ujjayini which will take a 1 hr 15 min (55.9 km) journey. Shri Mahakaleshwar of Ujjayini is known among the twelve celebrated Jyotirlingas in India. The glory of Mahakaleshwar temple has been vividly described in various Purans. When did the Mahakala temple first come into existence, is difficult to tell. However, the event may be assigned to the Pre-historic period. Puranas narrate that it was first established by Prajapita Brahma. After the darshan at Mahakaleshwar temple visit the following temples

    Harsiddhi Temple
    Harsiddhi MataTemple, one of the 51 Shaktipeetha temples of Goddess, located near Rudra Sagar Lake in Ujjain the city of Mahakal, the worldfamous Mahakaleshwar Temple, Madhya Pradesh, India is a very important and popular pilgrimage site of city for a follower of Sanatan Dharma. The Harsiddhi temple stands 13th in the list of 51 Saktipeetas across the world. Harsiddhi Temple temple is within walking distance from Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple.

    Kal Bhairav Temple
    The Kal Bhairav temple is dedicated to Kal Bhairav, the guardian deity of the city. Located on the banks of the Shipra River, it is one of the most active temples in the city, visited by hundreds of devotees daily. Liquor is one of the offerings made to the temple deity. Kal Bhairav Temple is 5 KM away from Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple. 

    Sandipani Ashram
    Sandipani Ashram is a holy shrine that is built in remembrance of the Maharishi Sandipani and is considered one of the famous tourist spots in Ujjain. According to mythology, it is believed that this is the ashram where Guru Sandipani used to teach Shri Krishna, his friend Sudama and Lord Krishna's brother Balram. This is 3 KM away from Kal Bhairav 
    Temple. 

    Gulawat-Valley of Lotus
    Gulawat village is located around 30 km from Indore. Gulawat valley is a self-fostered place situated amid nature, surrounded by eucalyptus and bamboo trees with small ponds in between water which comes from Yashwant Sagar Dam. In these ponds, beautiful lotuses blossom, which adds to the beauty of the place. Gulawat is 1 hr 50 min (70. km) away from Sandipani Ashram. 

    Pitra Parvat
    Pitra Parvat (mountain) is a place near Indore where people used to plant trees to pay homage to their ancestors. On the top of this picturesque mountain, an Octa metal statue of Lord Hanuman is made out of recycled utensils which are 72 feet in length and breadth and weigh approx 108 tons. Pitra Parvat is half an hour's drive from Gulawat. After Pitra Parvat back to Indore.

    Day 3
    Checkout from the hotel and leave from Indore to Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga. The temple is at the island of Mandhata which falls on the confluence point of Kaveri and Narmada rivers. Mandhata island has its shape resembling the sacred symbol of OM. The temple is built in Nagara style architecture and have detailed and intricate carvings. The Jyotirlinga which is installed on the base floor of the temple remains immersed in water. There are 20 shrines which are devoted to several deities including Ganesh, Krishna, Narmada, and Shani. After the darshan get back to Indore and get droped into the Airport/Railway station to continue with your onward journey. According to your departure timings from Indore you can visit any places which was missed from your first day trip.

  • 15 Days to 30 Days prior to Arrival: 50% of the total package cost.
  • 30 Days & More: 10% of package cost (and taxes are not refunded in any case)
  • Note: No refunds in case of Road Blocks, Accidents, Govt. lockdown, curfew, Yatra cancellation etc.
