Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple Darshan
Description
At Sabarimala, the deity is worshiped as Ayyappan. The shrine of Sabarimala is an ancient temple. It is believed that the prince of the Pandalam dynasty, an avatar of Shasta, meditated at Sabarimala temple and became one with the divine. The place where the prince meditated is the Manimandapam. The pilgrimage to Sabarimala starts on the first day of Vrischika month of the Malayalam year (Month of Scorpio) and ends on the 11th day of Dhanu month (The Month of Sagittarius). This season of the 41-day pilgrimage is known as Mandala kalam (Season). The season is in the months of December and January. The 41-day fast highlights the significance of austerity and abstinence in the lives of those seeking a complete merger with the Ultimate. A devotee has to abide by several regulations and dictates if he is to mount the pathinettu padikal and enter the temple on Sabarimala. The ultimate purpose of Ayyappa Vratham is self-transformation. The process of 41-day rituals helps the adhaks, and devotees realize their divinity. For the benefit of new devotees and the next generation of young devotees, in what follows, we describe the importance, significance, and benefits of Ayyappa Vratham. Additionally, you can visit Guruvayoor Sree Krishna Temple, Vadakkunnathan Temple, Chottanikkara Devi Temple, Vaikom Shiva Temple, Erumeli, and Sree Padmanabha Swami Temple.
