In fact, the Ramayana tour in Sri Lanka is highly popular among the locals as well as the tourists visiting the island country.

1Day 1Reach Colombo (By Flight) & Colombo to Kandy. On arrival at Colombo International Airport get assisted transfer to Kandy, Sri Lanka's beautiful landscape awaits you on your way. The road is 130 Km and takes 2 Hrs Approximately. On arrival at Kandy Check in at your hotel. In the evening take part in a puja ceremony at the Temple of the Holy Tooth Relic and a cultural and dance show close to Kandy lake. Dinner and overnight stay in Kandy.

2Day 2Kandy to Matale and back by Road. This is 40 Km and takes 01 Hrs Approximately. After breakfast, proceed to Matale, and visit the Muthumariamman Kovil, a Tamil temple in Sri Lanka. Then cross the Riverston mountain area and see the traditional Tamil Rama temple in Rattota. Also, visit the newly recognized Ramayana sites Lakgala and Yahangala. A short walk through forest paths will lead you to Sita Kotuwa and a waterfall near another Ramayana Trail site called Gurulupotha. On the way back to Kandy enjoy spectacular views of Knuckles Range. This is also called as "misty valley". Once back get into the hotel for an overnight stay.

3Day 3Kandy to Nuwara Eliya. After breakfast, check out from the hotel and by road drive to Nuwara Eliya. The trip is 80 kms long and takes 1 hour Approximately. On the way visit Rangoda Falls. Those who can't commit an uphill trek can alternatively visit the Hanuman temple built by the Chinmaya mission. On your way take a break at Labookellie tea plantation and see Mani Katthuter rock. Once reached Nuwara Eliya check in to your hotel. Overnight stay at Nuwara Eliya.

4Day 4Nuwara Eliya to Colombo. After breakfast, check out from the hotel and visit the Sita Amman temple in Sita Eliya, believed to be the place of Sita's captivity called Ashoka Vatika. Later see the Buddhist stupa at Divurumpola, according to the Ramayana it is the place where Sita's fire ordeal Agni Pariksha happened. The first session of the road back goes through the tea area around Hatton. You can arrive in Colombo by late afternoon and get on a short city tour. Once done check in to the hotel for an overnight stay.

5Day 5farewell to Colombo. Have breakfast, check out from the hotel, and get transferred to Colombo airport, later you will board in flight for your onward journey toward home with lots of divine memories.
