Jyotirlinga literally means Linga of light. In a spiritual sense, it can be elaborated to The all-pervading Brahmatmalinga or all-pervading light. It is mentioned in the Taittiriya Upanishad, that the twelve Principles of Brahma, Maya, the jiva, the mind, intellect, subconscious mind, ego, and the Panchamahabhutas have been referred to as the twelve Jyotirlingas. These are referred to as the twelve sections of the Shivalinga as well. In Sanatan Dharma getting the darshan of all these lingas in a single lifetime is considered as a rare opportunity and blessing from Bholenath. The following are the 12 Maha Jyotirlingas of Bharat along with their locations. 1. Somnath, Prabhasapattan, near Veraval, Sourashtra, Gujarat. 2. Mallikarjun Shrishailya, Andhra Pradesh. 3. Package Itinerary

    Day 1
    The tour starts in Mumbai. Arrive at Mumbai and drive to Bhimashankar (4 hr 50 min 196.3 km). Pune to Bhimashankar road trip is a fantastic experience with its stunning scenery and breathtaking views. Once you reach Bhimashankar, check in at your hotel and relax. After a short break Visit the Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga Temple, your first Jyotirlinga among the 12 highly revered Jyotirlingas in India. If you are interested, you can go ahead and pay a visit to the Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary where lush hills, waterfalls, and dense forests await you. Once done get back for an overnight stay at the hotel in Bhimashankar.

    Day 2
    Bhimashankar to Shirdi then Shani Shingnapur and Aurangabad (340 Km/7 Hrs.) On the 2nd day have an early breakfast and check out from the hotel. Later, drive straight towards Shirdi, which is at a distance of 183 km from Bhimashankar. On your arrival at Shirdi, pay a visit to Samadhi Mandir, Khandoba Temple, and Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Complex. Later, drive towards Shani Shingnapur. Shani Shingnapur temple is devoted to Lord Shani Dev, the God of Justice. Shani Shingnapur has no doors on any houses. In the evening, drive to Aurangabad and on arrival check in at the hotel and spend the remaining time at your leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel in Aurangabad.

    Aurangabad to Grishneshwar and then to Nashik (4 hr 30 min, 212 km) In the early morning, leave to visit your second Jyotirlinga Darshan which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Grishneshwar Temple (lord of compassion), also known as the Dhushmeshwar Temple. The Grishneshwar temple has a traditional South-Indian architectural design and is made up of red-colored stones and 44,400 square feet. After darshan at this temple, head towards Nashik. If time and health permits you can visit Panchavati, which is mentioned in Ramayana. On arrival at Nashik, check in to the hotel for an overnight stay at the hotel in Nashik.

    Day 4
    Nasik to Trimbakeshwar then to Mumbai (170 Km/3 Hrs.) Start the day with an early breakfast and check out from the hotel. Leave for Trimbakeshwar, your third Jyotirlinga among the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas. Trimbakeshwar Temple is 28 km away from Nashik city. River Godavari begins from the Brahmagiri hills in this town, and it is believed that it is the birthplace of Lord Ganesha, known as a place of Tri-Sandhya Gayatri. After darshan at all these places you can leave for Mumbai. On arrival, you will have an assisted transfer to the hotel and your overnight stay at the hotel in Mumbai.

    Mumbai - Porbandar (By flight) - Dwarka - Porbandar (105 km/2 Hrs) On this 5th day of your yatra, after breakfast check out from the hotel and head towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai, to catch a flight for Porbandar. On arrival at Porbandar airport, you will get assisted check-in at the reserved hotel. After a short rest, you can head towards Dwarka for Nageshwar Jyotirlinga darshan, which will be your fourth Jyotirlinga. if you get some leisure time after the Darshan then you can explore the local markets in Dwarka. By evening back to Porbandar for an overnight stay.

    Day 6
    Porbandar to Somnath and back (266 km/5 Hrs.). You should start this day early in the morning. After breakfast begins your drive to Somnath Jyotirlinga, which is believed to be the first among the 12 Jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva and your 5th Jyotirlinga in this yatra. The temple is at the ancient Triveni Sangam, the confluence of three rivers,  Kapila, Hiran, and Saraswati. After having darshan at this holy temple, return to Porbandar for an overnight stay at the hotel in Porbandar.

    Day 7
    Porbandar to Mumbai to Indore (By flight) - Ujjain (55 km/1.5 Hrs.) After breakfast and checking out from your hotel, you will be driven to Porbandar airport to catch a flight to Indore via Mumbai. On your arrival at Indore, drive towards Ujjain. After reaching Ujjain, check in at the reserved hotel for an overnight stay. The rest of the time is at your leisure which you can utilize for rest or visiting the local market for souvenirs.

    Day 8
    Ujjain to Mahakaleshwar and Omkareshwar (142 km/4 Hrs) Start early in the morning and head straight towards the Mahakaleshwar Temple to attend the Bhasm Aarti before 3:00 am. The Bhasm Aarti is the first ritual at the temple to wake Lord Shiva. After paying homage to your 6th Jyotirlinga, return to the hotel for breakfast. Later leave for a road trip to Omkareshwar, your 7th Jyotirlinga shrine of Shiva. Omkareshwar is an island called Shivpuri between the Narmada River and the river surrounding the temple. Post reaching, complete the check-in to the reserved hotel and have some well-deserved rest. The evening is reserved for visiting the Omkareshwar Temple and attending the Aarti. Once done with darshan then return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Omkareshwar.

    Day 9
    Omkareshwar to Indore (80 Km/2.30 Hrs.) then Hyderabad (flight) and Srisailam (340 Km/7Hrs.). Just like yesterday Wake up before the sun rises to the rare opportunity of participating in the early morning Abhishekam ceremony at Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga. Once done get back to the hotel, have breakfast, and check out from the hotel. Get driven to Indore, and you will be dropped at the Indore airport to board a flight to Hyderabad. On your arrival in Hyderabad, begin your drive to Srisailam, renowned for Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple. After reaching Srisailam, proceed for a visit Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga Temple, also known as Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Temple or Srisailam Temple which will be your 8th Jyotirlinga darshan on this trip. Attend the grand aarti in the evening, and get back to check in at the Srisailam hotel for an overnight stay.

    Day 10
    Mallikarjuna Temple to Hyderabad (340 Km/7Hrs.) Attend the early morning Abhishekam of Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga Temple and return to the hotel for breakfast and check out. Start your drive back to Hyderabad. Upon reaching, check in to the hotel and either relax or enjoy your leisure time by visiting popular attractions such as Salarjung Museum, Charminar, etc... Stay overnight at the hotel in Hyderabad.

    Day 11
    Hyderabad to Madurai (flight) and Madurai to Rameshwaram (Drive 175 Km/4 Hrs.). On the 11th day of your Jyotirlinga yatra, after breakfast check out from your hotel and head towards the airport to catch a flight to Madurai. Upon arrival at Madurai, first, visit the renowned Meenakshi Amman Temple. Then get on the road to Rameshwaram. The drive to the island town takes almost 4 hours from Madurai. On arrival at Rameswaram check into the hotel and rest for a while. Later, visit the Arulmigu Ramanathaswamy Temple, your 9th Jyotirlingam. Ramanathaswamy Temple is having 22 wells spread throughout the premises and water from each good tastes different. Do proceed for rituals of Kund snan now as that will be a bit crowdy in the morning. Ramanathaswamy Temple is closely related to Ramayana. Overnight stay at the hotel in Rameshwaram.

    Day 12
    Rameshwaram to Madurai (Drive) and Madurai to Delhi (Flight). Early in the morning around 4:00 am leave the hotel for the holy Mani Darshan. Later attend the 'Abhishekam' ceremony at the Rameshwaram Jyotirlinga Temple. Then, return to your hotel, have breakfast, and check-out. Drive back to Madurai by road. After reaching Madurai, head straight to Madurai airport to board the flight for Delhi. On arrival in Delhi, check in to the hotel and relax. If energy and time permit, you can explore the local markets in Delhi. Overnight stay at the hotel in Delhi.

    Delhi to Haridwar (242 km/5 Hrs.). This will be a relaxed morning, have breakfast and check out from the hotel, then head towards Haridwar. After arriving at Haridwar, check in to the hotel, relax for a while and visit the renowned Chandi Devi Temple and the Mansa Devi Temple by cable car. In the evening, witness the most divine Ganga aarti at the Ghat. and get back to the hotel for an Overnight stay

    Day 14
    Haridwar to Guptkashi (205 km /7-8 Hrs.). On day 14th, after breakfast, check out from the hotel at Haridwar, and get ready for the early morning drive to Guptkashi. On arrival, check-in at the hotel and rest. By evening you should visit the ancient Vishwanath Temple, similar to the one in Varanasi. Guptkashi temple is also a famous temple in this area. Overnight stay at the hotel in Guptkashi.

    Day 15
    Guptkashi to Phata (15 km/40 minutes) then to Kedarnath and back to Guptkashi via Phata. On the 15th day of the 12 Jyotirlinga yatra, after early morning breakfast leave for Phata Helipad. On arrival, board the helicopter to Kedarnath. On arrival spend a few hours in Darshan at the Kedarnath Temple, which will be your 10th Jyotirlinga. After the holy Darshan, return to Phata via Helicopter. Return to Guptkashi for an overnight stay at the hotel.

    Day 16
    Guptkashi to Haridwar (205 km/8 Hrs.) then to Varanasi (By train). On this 16th day of the yatra, leave early from Guptkashi after breakfast and start your drive back to Haridwar. After reaching Varanasi, you will get transferred to the Haridwar railway station to board the train for Varanasi. Enjoy the overnight journey to Varanasi.

    Day 17
    Arrival at Varanasi. Arrive at Varanasi railway station in the afternoon and get an assisted transfer to the hotel. Complete check-in formalities and relax. In the evening proceed to take part in the famous evening Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. After the Arti, you can see the city around and return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

    Day 18
    Varanasi darshan and sightseeing then overnight on the train for Deoghar. Wake up by 4 am and head straight to Assi Ghat for morning Aarti. Once it's over leave for a boat ride on Ganga. Take a dip in this holy water and return to the hotel for a dress change and breakfast. Then visit Kalabhairava Temple and Shri Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga Temple respectively. This will be your 11th Jyotirlinga darshan in this yatra. Come back to the hotel complete the check-out formalities, and then proceed for a visit to the holy temples around, including Durga Temple, Tulsi Manas, Birla Mandir, Visalakshi and Annapurneshwari, etc. After the city tour, leave for an excursion to Sarnath, a Buddhist pilgrim spot that is famous for being the first place where Lord Buddha preached after attaining enlightenment. Sarnath is 10 km from Varanasi. Later in the evening, get transferred to Varanasi railway station to board the overnight train for Deoghar.

    Day 19
    Deogarh to Baidyanath and Basukinath (40 Km/1 Hr.). On arrival at Deogarh, check into the hotel and unwind. Later, leave for Baba Baidyanath Jyotirlinga, also known as Vaidyanatha Jyotirlinga temple or Baidyanath Dham. This is your 12th and final Jyotirlinga darshan in this yatra. Visit the holy temple to take part in the rituals of Abhishekam and Pooja. Later, pay a visit to Basukinath Temple, one of the ancient temples in this area. After darshan, return to the hotel for an overnight stay. Evening aarti is an option you can try if time and energy permit.

    Day 20
    Deogarh to Patna airport to board the flight. On the very last day of your 12 Jyotirlinga Darshan yatra, wake up early and visit the Baidyanath Jyotirlinga temple to attend the morning aarti and get return to your hotel for breakfast. Later, complete the check-out formalities and proceed to explore the local markets. Deogarh sweets especially Peda are a delicacy of this region. After the shopping, get transferred to the Patna airport to board the flight for your onward journey.
