Kinnaur Kailash Yatra
Description
Kinnaur Kailash is an important religious place for Hindus and among the Panch Kailash. Kinnaur Kailash is located near the Tibetan border in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. The height of Kinnaur Kailash is 24,000 above sea level. Kinnaur Shiv Ling is situated on the top of the mountain, whose height is approximately 40 feet and the width is about 16 feet. This khand is worshiped as Lord Shiva's natural Shiva Ling. Kinnaur Kailash yatra is arguably the second most challenging trek in Asia. Due to the difficulty of trekking and the unpredictable and hostile climate pilgrims require good physical fitness to complete this yatra. The Kinnaur Yatra period will be around one month from August to September.

1Day 1Arrive at Chandigarh airport or railway station and get assisted transport to Recong Peo by road. This journey is 320 km and it takes almost 10 hrs to complete. Once in Recong Peo check in to the hotel and take ample rest.

2Day 2The second day will be spent on acclimatization. Reckong Peo is the commercial and administrative center of the Kinnaur district. Pilgrims can visit all the important places of this area and also visit Kalpa Village, which is just above Reckong Peo. All travel formalities will be done today.

3Day 3Start early morning after breakfast to Tangling. Today's travel will be from Recong Peo to Tangling by road (8 KM) and 14km from Tangling village to Ganesh park by foot. This is a moderate-difficult trek. It can take 8-12 hrs according to the strength and stamina of the passenger. Once reached Ganesh park or Ganesh Gufa stay overnight in tents.

4Day 4Ganesh park to Shri Kinnaur Kailash Darshan via Ganesh Gufa and return to Ganesh park is 5+5= 10 km up and down. After Ganesh Gufa the way is full of boulder rocks and becomes difficult. In between these boulders, there is Gauri Kund. After Gauri Kund the ascend get steeper and 2-3 hours of the climb will take you to Kinnaur Kailash. Kinnour Kailash Darshan is majestic and mesmerizing. Once done descend as fast as possible to the tent accommodation at Ganesh park/Ganesh Gufa.

5Day 5Start the day as early as possible. Have breakfast and set descend from Ganesh Gufa to Tangling village on foot. This will be 16 km and may take 5-6 hours to complete. After reaching Tangling village, get going to Recong Peo by vehicle, and on arrival check in to the hotel for dinner and a night stay.

6Day 6After an early breakfast start from Recong Peo to Chandigarh airport or railway station for your onward journey back home. Leave this divine land with the memories of Kinnour Kailash Darshan and the pride of completing the adventure of the arguably second toughest trek in Asia.
