Valley of Flowers, Hemkund Sahib, Badrinath

Package code: RVOFHLBR-2023

Description

Spread over an area of 87 sq km in the Chamoli district, the Valley of Flowers National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and forms one of the two core zones of the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve. Though the Valley is beautiful in May, June, and September. But for a maximum number of flowers, July and August are the most preferred months. The difficulty level of the Valley of Flowers Trek is moderate and can be recommended to first-timers, but only those who are fit and adequately prepared. Gurudwara Shri Hemkund Sahib is the highest Gurudwara in the world. It is recorded in the holy Granth Sahib that the tenth guru of Sikhs, Guru Govind Singh, meditated by the serene banks of Hemkund lake in one of his earlier births. Stepping into the Hemkund trek is a moderately steep trek. The Hemkund Sahib trek km is 6 km which is the most difficult part of the whole Hemkund Sahib Yatra. The atmospheric pressure and less oxygen at 15000 ft make it harder. Still, this trip is worth both spiritually and scenic beauty-wise.
